About Dr. Fikret Genç
Dr. Fikret Genç co-founded Genç Dental in 2016 and serves as the clinic’s lead maxillofacial surgeon. His academic route runs through two of Turkey’s oldest dental faculties — a DDS from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry (1995–2000), followed by a PhD in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, completed in 2009.
In 2008, his thesis on orthognathic surgery — the specialist field of correcting jaw alignment through surgical reshaping — earned him the title of medical doctor, and the same year the Turkish Ministry of Health formally recognised his specialty status in Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical training was broad by design: rotations through Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, ENT, General Surgery, and Anaesthesiology at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine İbn-i Sina Hospital shaped a surgeon comfortable beyond the narrow edges of any single specialty.
What distinguishes his practice for UK patients is the depth of international training behind complex implant work. In 2011, he trained in advanced implant surgery and periodontal microsurgery alongside Prof. Bjarni Elvar Pjetursson and Prof. NP Lang in Iceland. 2014 saw him working with Prof. Fouad Khoury in Münster, Germany, on bone grafting protocols for patients previously turned away by other clinics for insufficient bone. 2018 brought zygomatic implant training in Spain under Dr. Carlos Aparicio — one of the handful of surgeons worldwide who genuinely shaped the protocol as it’s practised today.
All-on-4 and zygoma training in Germany (2016). Immediate-load implant techniques in Sweden (2015). Orthognathic surgery and facial reconstruction in Singapore (2013). The progression matters because zygomatic and full-arch immediate-load cases — the complex work UK patients most often fly out for — don’t come together without exactly this kind of layered, years-long training.
Alongside clinical practice, Dr. Genç lectures at Üsküdar University, passing the next generation of dental professionals through the same rigorous approach that shaped his own career. Published research in international journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal — a record of peer-reviewed contribution that most overseas implant clinics simply don’t have.
Outside the clinic, he windsurfs, snowboards, and plays music.
